Making Cannabis Ointment for a Mini Deodorant Container
This ointment is almost liquid at room temperature and very solid in the fridge. An idea from a fellow cannabis medical patient was to pour this ointment into a mini deodorant dispenser and “voila!” instant, on-the-go relief for aches and pains, tummy issues. This ointment even helped me heal a wart! If you want to pour the ointment in a jar to store in the fridge you will need to take it out of the fridge for about 15 minutes in order to use it as it becomes very solid.
1 cup cannabis infused coconut oil
1/4 cup olive oil
1/3 cup grated or pellet beeswax. I use Humblebee’s local soft essential oil infused squares which can be purchased on Etsy.
1 teaspoon essential oils of choice. I use a blend of peppermint, lavender and frankincense
Melt all ingredients in a saucepan on the stove at level 2 heat setting. The mixture needs to be above the lowest heat setting as beeswax needs a slightly higher heat (145-147 F/63-64 C) to melt than the coconut oil. The above makes a really large batch which can be halved or quartered. I also pour some of mine into amber colored jars which can be kept in the fridge for a long time. I’ve had some for several months and it’s still good.
